A woman should be barefoot, pregnant and in the kitchen…really?
The saying “Barefoot and Pregnant and in the kitchen” often had a condescending tone about it or was made out to be a joke, or more to say that a woman’s job was to stay home and have babies. Who says we can’t have it all? Who says we can’t be home having children and enjoying it and having a career? I would suggest that being pregnant is actually a wonderful thing, regardless of your choices. I think you all will agree.
Having a little human being growing inside a woman’s belly is a wonderful amazing gift. It certainly is nothing to joke about or have a negative attachment to it. It’s a gift to be celebrated and when we receive that confirmation that we are pregnant we are so overjoyed. So if you find yourself walking around your kitchen barefoot while pregnant, enjoy every moment of it.
I myself can not wait to meet this little bundle of joy when he comes into our world.
