The musical talent in Kingston is phenomenal I have to say. Every time I turn around I hear more beautiful voices that I’m blown away by them. It is amazing that Kingston has this many talented people in a variety of arts.
Abby Stewart, Nolan Hubbard, Rachel Tormann have come across my camera at some time or another and now Laura Carson and Lydia Stafford and it’s been such a pleasure capturing their essence. Of course when I have such amazing musical talent in front of me, I love to have them actually perform. I get to have my own personal concert even if it’s only for a short period of time. Having these gifted individuals sing their hearts out in front of my camera, they come to life…instantly. They are in their element and I get to capture that in an image. You can see how passionate they are about their art and how much they are committed to honing in on that skill so they are at their best when they share it with everyone else.
It wasn’t very long ago that I was also involved in photographing an event held at the https://www.queensu.ca/theisabel/ for 6 very talented musicians /musician groups who won a contest for up and coming artists in Kingston and man did I enjoy that.
I can’t wait to have more of these talented musicians in front of my camera. If you haven’t had an opportunity to listen to these amazing artists, I highly recommend that you do.
