Chaffey’s Lock made for a beautiful backdrop for Terrilyn and Phil’s winter wonderland engagement session and I’d say Gus loved it too!
Early the morning of Terrilyn and Phil’s engagement session, I worried just a little as the snow was falling but more so because of the wind that was whipping across the open fields. If we had gotten much more snowfall and wind, it might have made it a little difficult for driving. However, thankfully, the day held it together and in fact turned out to be one of the most beautiful winter wonderland settings you could hope for.
We met at Chaffey’s Locks to start and it was snowing just enough to make it magnificent. I couldn’t have been more excited even though I had hoped for more of this golden sun we have been getting in the late afternoon these past few days. So having it snow like it did, made it more magical. If you can’t have the sun, lets have a little snow. And were there ever a lot of snowmobilers out and about.
We walked around through the snow and had to use those beautiful boathouses in the background as well as the locks, but as we were down along the water’s edge, two beautiful swan’s decided to join us. One even climbed up out of the water onto the ice to give as a little show. It wasn’t long after that more Swans joined them. It seemed though like they were giving the two teenagers trouble for wandering off as they approached only to a certain point and started honking at the two who of course honked right back until they finally made the decision to go back home. It was so funny.
And I think Gus was the one who enjoyed the snow most of all. Running and jumping and diving his nose deep into it. Coming up to have snow thrown on him. Fur babies make life so much more enjoyable don’t you think?
