A beautiful red and white Cessna plane was part of the focus for this couple’s engagement session and I loved it.
One of the things I’ve always wanted to do was go up in the air in a small plane. I was finally able to do that a couple of months back when an elderly woman whose dream was to fly over the Rideau and her family home came true and I was asked to capture it. Once in the air, I was in love even more. Flying above this fabulous world is amazing. And sharing that experience with someone else as excited as myself made it that much more enjoyable. So when Clark and Kayleigh told me Clark was a pilot and they wanted to include his Cessna when doing their engagement session, I was totally down for it (or UP for it). lol
It’s really hard to believe that something that small and metal that thin could fly in the air, but it does. My only disappointment was that we were not able to take it up for a flight that day, but they’ve promised to come down here to the 1000 Islands area and take me up. I can’t wait! Perhaps I should look into getting my flying licence. After leaving the plane back in the hanger, we headed to Clark’s family farm where I got nibbled on by sheep each time I put my camera to my eye. I guess he wanted to see if my clothing tasted better than the straw he was eating at the time.
This engagement session was as much fun as anyone could have, even though it was cold and windy. Engagement sessions in the snow with a winter sunset is one of my favorite times of the year to photograph. The warmth you feel from the sun as you walk across the snow covered ground and seeing your breath in that fresh cold air just makes you feel so alive. It’s like you’re more connected to and more aware of life. So being photographed in the winter with the one person you love most in life makes it that much more special.
