Sibling rivalry? Not today. Today was full of pure love and laughter.
The joy and laughter that siblings have when they are being so silly will make anyone laugh and feel like a kid themselves. I just love it and like to get in on the fun too. It reminds me of the fun I had with my siblings as a child racing each other down the road when we got off the school bus, or being the first kids in the lake when the spring thaw comes, or walking along the top of the fence and riding our bikes down the road to get candy from the store. Those were the best times.
Elliot and Rory have just gained a new baby brother, Simon. As you can tell, they are super excited to have him around and are already being silly and making memories with him. Soon, they’ll also be saying that these were the best times.
I also love to see how much love someone can have for a child that has only just arrived on this earth. There is an immediate connection and overwhelming feeling of love from every member of the family the moment they see the baby. There is no growing to love the child, or getting to know them first to see whether they even like the baby…it’s just instant. For parents, the love is there even before the baby is born. For young siblings, I’m not sure they quite get it before the baby is born, but when he or she arrives, boom…there it is. The big brother becomes protector right away, the big sister becomes an instant mother hen. They can’t help express their love for their new family member. Their joy and happiness becomes infectious. Little Simon is going to have a lot of fun with these two for sure. Those giggles that turn into full blown laughter will have Simon joining right along with them in no time. You’re in for a real treat mom and dad.
