If anyone has ever taken the drive to a little Village north of Kingston, Ontario, called Westport, you will have found a quaint, serene place along the waterfront. There is something about Westport that draws people to come shop and explore all the while taking in its welcoming atmosphere. Chelsea and Dylan decided it was the perfect place to be to have their engagement session and I could not have agreed more.
We met in the Village and decided to take a wander around the streets and look at all the beauty its residents take such pride in showcasing. Of course, those gardens are a great backdrop for me to use to create beautiful photos for the two of them. It is such a friendly place. Shop keepers all say hello and invite you in as passers by smile and say hello and congratulate the couple. My only disappointment that day, was that the ice cream shop wasn’t open. I love my ice cream.
After wandering the streets for a while, we made our way down to the water. It’s right there afterall so you can’t not go. The arched bridge giving passage over to this tiny little island for the public is so beautiful. It’s a great place to take a few moments and enjoy the nature and water that surrounds you.
When you are in Westport, you cannot leave before taking the short trek up to Foley Mountain where we made our way to the Lookout. There you will see the entire village with it’s iconic Church Steeple peering through the trees. It is most beautiful in the Fall with all the gorgeous vibrant colors. But Chelsea and Dylan had no trouble enjoying the view on a beautiful summer evening.
I’m actually looking forward to their wedding coming up very soon this year. As many couples have opted to postpone their wedding until 2021 because of the Covid restrictions, these two have decided to be married in an intimate backyard ceremony. I’m looking forward to sharing those moments with you also.
