If you’ve ever been to an Italian wedding before you’ll know just what I mean when I say how fabulous they are. Not that all weddings aren’t fabulous, but when an Italian wedding is put together it is usually quite the extravaganza. There is food galore all day long and with the parents of the bride owning Linguini’s restaurant in Belleville you know its going to be even more delicious. If you’ve never been, I highly recommend it. Then the mother of the groom is a florist so extra care was taken with the bouquet, boutonnieres and decor with added assistance. Musicians played during cocktail hour with more amazing food. But it isn’t just all of these details that make an Italian wedding extra special. It’s the people and the traditions. From the moment you arrive at the bride’s home, you will meet soooo many Aunt’s and Uncles already celebrating as the bride gets ready. When she leaves, a ribbon is cut signifying that is the last time she’s leaving as a single woman. And as dinner starts, so does the dancing. White napkins twirl in the hair, smiles beam from face to face on everyone and they dance around the table holding hands. Then all the food! And just when you think you’ve eaten the final course, another comes along. Then immediately a congo line starts the dancing off for the rest of the night. There is hardly a person left seated at their table. Family is everything and celebrating with that family and displaying the affection is never held back.
