Lifestyle Maternity Session
Lifestyle sessions capture the interests, behaviours, and the relationships within the family dynamic. These sessions are more than capturing the beautiful changes to a woman’s body when they become pregnant and the continuous changes as the baby grows. Lifestyle sessions are about the feelings of the family as they await the arrival of that baby on the way. It’s about their joy, love, connection between one another, excitement and anticipation of their family becoming larger.
Melissa and Mitch are one couple so very excited as there is a baby on the way for their family. A little brother or sister for Evelyn. There is so much anticipation to discover the unknown that comes with carrying a little human being inside a woman. It’s miraculous how a baby develops to become this perfect tiny being. Having this stage of your life documented is such a great thing to do. It’s a record of where that little child’s life began. And what better way to document and preserve that record than to have a lifestyle session. Even if that lifestyle session is in studio. I think it is so worth showing the connection the parents have to that unborn child already. It shows how much they already love that person and the wonderful relationship between the parents. The devotion that created that little baby. Imagine sharing these images to that unborn child later in life. That baby will know they were created out of love and that they were truly wanted and that their parents were already attached to them even before their first breath.
It was such a pleasure to photograph this growing family. There is always a number of mixed feelings while a family awaits a baby’s arrival. To be able to capture all of their emotions in a relaxed setting is such a treat for me. Melissa and Mitch are mostly excited and looking forward to the arrival of this little one as any parent is. But with another little one, they are also faced with her curiosity of what is happening even though she’s so young. I am glad we were able to capture so much happiness, so much love, so much excitement, and their anticipation.
