Love is Love
When two people love one another that is all that really matters. Love is Love. We’ve heard this saying before. And it’s true. Whether you’re a man and a woman whose hearts fall for one another, two women, or two men, you cannot control it. Nor are you supposed to.
When I met Stephanie and Jessica, it was so clear to me that they were madly in love with one another and utterly adorable. It was apparent that Stephanie was so outgoing and she brought that out in Jessica who was a little more shy of the two. We chatted about their plans for their wedding day and I knew it was going to be fabulous. And it was.
When I arrived, Jessica was ready early and was calmly hanging out with her bridal party. Meanwhile, just a few rooms away, Stephanie was supposed to be getting ready but was late. Just as Jessica had predicted months ago. They laughed about this because they knew each other so well. It was one of the quirks you could tell why they loved one another. They also knew they’d need chicken nuggets before walking down the isle and were serious about this. So chicken nuggets it was.
The two of them had planned a first look which I absolutely enjoy photographing. First looks give the couple an opportunity to see one another for the first time and actually be able to touch, cry and embrace one another as well as say “you look wonderful”. This does not happen at the alter. I think first looks are so touching. So Jessica and Stephanie climbed into a white vintage car while blind folded for the ride together to Happy Life Farms. It was such a sweet moment to see them nervously smile and laugh while they held hands anxiously anticipating that first moment when they got to open their eyes and look into the others eyes. It was so beautiful to watch.
Lined by glass jar lanterns, each walked down a wooded path with their respective parents to say their vows in front of family and friends underneath a lovely arbor with floral stems hanging from little ribbon. Their excitement couldn’t be hidden. Inside the barn lit by thousands of tiny twinkling lights a simple barbeque truck served the guests while heart felt speeches were told through laughter and tears. Afterwards, the celebrating began. When one of the bride’s happen to be a newfie and she has guests from Newfoundland attending, you know everyone is going to have the best time.
