Do you need to be engaged to enjoy a Couples Session or simply in love?
To answer the above question, I believe not. A couple need only be in love to celebrate their feelings and have them captured in images. You need not yet be engaged.
It’s wonderful to capture the love that is developing between a couple and be able to look back on the images and relive the memories. Memories that bring back the emotions during that day. They are a reflection of who the two are as a couple at that time. Being able to get to know one another day by day and explore the things you enjoy in surroundings that make you feel alive. It’s such an amazing time of your life. It’s these relationships that shape just who we become as we mature into ourselves.
Stephanie and Jake are a couple who I met while photographing one of their friends weddings. Throughout the wedding day, it was abundantly clear to me that these two really enjoyed being with one another. I couldn’t help but notice how at ease they were together and how much they were in love with the other person. We spoke later and I was thrilled to chat about photographing this connection the two of them had and so we headed to the Scarborough Bluffs to do just that. It was so easy to do. I wasn’t wrong in what I noticed the first time meeting with them as it was even more evident this day. Watching the birds fly through the air, walking along the beach, running through the water. Watching their infectious laughter made me smile and love what I do even more. It was a simple day to just be themselves and document their relationship and preserve those feelings. There were no thoughts of what the future might hold for them. There was only this time, these simple moments. The joy and the laughter and love they felt on that day and that day only. How wonderful that is.
We had so much fun that by the end of the late afternoon, we were planning to spend another day again documenting their love for one another but this time in the snow. I’m so looking forward to this soon.
